Charlestown Female Seminary and First Baptist Church - Charleston, Boston Mass.
Summary
Charlestown Female Seminary and First Baptist Church. Many distinguished teachers and missionaries and leading educators graduated from this seminary, including Mary Livermore. The school in 1843 had 160 pupils from ten different states in the union and from Texas and each of the British Provinces, and ten teachers, and stated that "assistant teachers are selected from the best scholars." Furthermore, "the teachers are selected from different religious denominations, and sectarian views are not, of course, inculcated."
