CAMP HANSEN, Okinawa, Japan (Feb. 8, 2020) A CH-53E Super Stallion heavy-lift helicopter with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 265 (Reinforced), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), refuels at a forward arming and refueling point (FARP). During the exercise, the FARP provided fuel from one assault amphibious vehicle (AAV) to the CH-53, as well as another AAV. The America Expeditionary Strike Group, 31st MEU team, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
