Brig. Gen. Dwayne Edwards, commander of the 98th Division,
Summary
Brig. Gen. Dwayne Edwards, commander of the 98th Division, addresses the soldiers of Task Force Scorpion, May 10. Task Force Scorpion recently became validated for their mission to Afghanistan this year where they will conduct NATO training missions for the Afghan national security forces. This is the first time a Reserve component will replace this particular NATO mission. Until now, this mission was reserved for active duty units. Several soldiers with Task Force Scorpion have careers in areas of law enforcement on the civilian side which allows them to bring an array of personal experience to the training of the Afghans, said Army Sgt. Alfredo Miranda, a Port St. Lucie, Fla., resident.
This task force is comprised of military police soldiers from units all over the United States including, Florida, New Jersey, and Kentucky.
