Before any live rounds can be locked and loaded, soldiers
Summary
Before any live rounds can be locked and loaded, soldiers from 1st Platoon “Blood Angels,” D Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat team, 1st Cavalry Division, had to go through the lane with blank ammunition to become familiar with the procedures being used. The last stage of this “blank run” is to load a simulated casualty onto a helicopter touching down at a landing zone marked with yellow smoke. (U.S. Army Photo by Spc. Bradley J.
