As indicated above, this compress should be made tofit snugly when wrapped around the chest, to preventchilling during vaporization of the water. On the otherhand, it should not be so tight as to embarrass the breath-ing. The compress should be changed about once every hour, 72 AN EPITOME OF HYDROTHERAPY and the precaution previously mentioned, to have a freshcompress in readiness before removal, must be observed,in order to obviate needless exposure of the nude chest,which interferes with reaction.
