Summary

An engineer with the 505th Zone National Police walks with their EOD9 bomb suit on to better understand how to adapt to operating with restricted movement at Bost Airfield, Afghanistan, June 13, 2017. During the class, the advisor discussed the specifications of the suit, as well as how to properly clean and maintain it. Utilizing the bomb suit will help the engineers safely and efficiently remove improvised explosive device threats to help maintain security for the local populace. Task Force Southwest, comprised of approximately 300 Marines and Sailors from II Marine Expeditionary Force, are training, advising and assisting the Afghan National Army 215th Corps and the 505th Zone National Police.
