US COAST GUARD AMLEP operations

description

Summary

ATLANTIC OCEAN (July 15, 2011) Senegalese marines and Coast Guardsmen from Guard Cutter Forward (WMEC 911) approach a Senegalese-flagged fishing vessel during a African Maritime Law Enforcement Partnership (AMLEP) boarding mission. The ship was found to be fishing without a permit and the crew was escorted back to port. AMLEP is a branch of Africa Partnership Station (APS) that focuses on operating side-by-side with regional maritime services in order to stop and deter illicit transnational maritime activity by conducting these operations with African navies.
