1998 Charles E. Peterson Prize, Entry

Significance: It was constructed in 1907 from materials salvaged from the 1906 engine house fire. The cellar was excavated some 3 feet below grade, lined with wood planking and roofed with a heavy plank deck a covered walkway connected it to the wood boarding house.
