Airmen from the 5th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron wash
Summary
Airmen from the 5th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron wash a B-52H Stratofortess at Minot Air Force Base, N.D., June 19, 2013. The B-52s are washed routinely every 180 days to prevent corrosion and every 30 days in high corrosion areas. After the wash is completed, the post wash lube is used to force water and collected dirt out of high friction and moving areas. This keeps the parts functioning properly for safety during flight.
