Air Commandos with the 8th Special Operations Squadron
Summary
Air Commandos with the 8th Special Operations Squadron conduct a routine training mission on a CV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft during a flight over Northwest Florida, Nov. 8, 2016. The CV-22 combines the vertical takeoff, hover and vertical landing qualities of a helicopter with the long-range, fuel efficiency and speed characteristics of a turboprop aircraft. The Osprey has been used operationally since 2006 to conduct long-range infiltration, exfiltration and resupply missions for special operations forces globally.
