Air Commandos assigned to the 353rd Special Operations Group Detachment 1 unload five CV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft deployed from the 8th Special Operations Squadron at Yokohama North Dock, Japan, April 4, 2018. Approximately 100 Airmen and five Ospreys deployed to Yokota Air Base to participate in regional exercises. The Osprey combines the vertical takeoff, landing and hover qualities of a helicopter with the long-range, fuel efficient and speed characteristics of a turboprop aircraft.
