Summary
A stout elderly man (three-quarter length) sits astride across a chair, his arms folded on its back; he wears a hat and holds a cane; his head is turned in profile to the left, and is seen through the wide-open sash of a window in Boodle's, St. James's Street. On the wall behind (left) is a portrait of a horse: 'Yellow Filly'. Beneath the imprint: '* Vide: a d... 'd good Cocoa-Tree Pun.' 28 May 1800
