A mine resistant ambush protected truck (front) and an MRAP Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck, both from the 883rd Engineer Battalion, stand ready to move out from Forward Operating Base Apache, Afghanistan, Feb. 13, 2012. The 883rd Engineers routinely conduct route clearance which helps ensure roads across Zabul province, Afghanistan, are free and clear of improvised explosive devices. Their mission helps Afghan civilians, Afghan National Security Forces, and International Security Assistance Forces remain safe as they move from one place to another.
