A casualty lays on the ground with an open lower extremity wound caused by the shrapnel of a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter rotatory blade which shattered during a “refueling” mishap that injured several others as part of the mass casualty exercise on Patton Airfield, Feb. 5 on Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. The exercise was a multiple platform training event that executed the emergency management and response standard operating procedures in case of a catastrophic event on an installation.
