A C-130J Super Hercules from the 36th Airlift Squadron makes a pass over a drop zone to ensure it is clear prior to releasing humanitarian aid filled Low-Cost Low-Altitude bundles during Operation Christmas Drop, Dec. 10, 2018, on Fais Island, Federated States of Micronesia. The 36 AS out of Yokota Air Base, Japan, is the only active duty C-130 unit in the Indo-Asia Pacific region providing tactical airlift which is vital to the U.S. Pacific Command’s crisis response capability, and lead the way with Low-Cost Low-Altitude airdrop initiatives where through subject matter exchange programs have been able to share the procedures with partner nations.
