180515-N-PK553-122 Agaña, Guam (May 15, 2018) – Members of the Agaña police precinct assist a family member honoring her loved one during a wreath laying ceremony for the 17 Guam peace officers who lost their lives while on duty, May 15. The ceremony was held in conjunction during National Police Week and included family members of the fallen officers, Government of Guam elected officials, and representatives from the Air Force and Navy. The service included the raising of the United States and Guam flags, the playing of the national anthem and Guam Hymn, a candle lighting ceremony and invocation, and the rendering of honors followed by a twenty one-gun salute. Gov. Calvo and Lt. Gov. Ray Tenorio made speeches honoring not only the lives of those lost in the police force but all peace officers across all services.
