adjusting mechan-ism admits of a vertical movement of 2^inches; also, by loosening the milled knobat the end of the horizontal arm, the tem-perature chamber may be swung to oneside for convenience in removing, repla-cing, or refilling the water-glass. Operation. The glass is filled withwater, the wax cup placed in position, thecurrent turned on, and the rheostat han-dle moved to the fifth button. When thethermometer registers about 110° F., therheostat handle is moved back (to theleft) to either the fourth or third button,depending upon the temperature that isdesired. The point of the wax-carrier isheated so that it will fuse the wax, and isembedded firmly in the wax form. The door to the temperature chamber isopened by revolving the cap piece uponthe flange; the handle of the wax-carrier,with its attached wax form, is placed inthe spring clamp, and the door closed. It is unnecessary to go into detailrespecting temperature, as any degreewhich is required can be obtained, the Fig. 10.
