TECHNIQUE OF COLLARGOL INJECTION 381 changed their positions relative to the kidney and the ureter. The ureterin this case was greatly dilated. An interesting case of doubtful shadow in the line of the ureter is recordedby Thurstan Holland, where the only indication against the shadow beingthat of a ureteral stone was its unusual direction in relation to the ureteralline. It was found at operation to be due to a tooth in a dermoid cyst. A second method in doubtful cases is to inject into the ureter and pelvisof the kidney a solution of coUargol, it being possible to demonstrate dilata-tion of the ureter and calices of the kidney by this method.
