CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – At NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, several scientists and researchers participate in a “Looking for Signs of Life in the Universe” news conference, Nov. 22, as part of preflight activities for the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) mission. From left, are NASA Astrobiology Director Mary Voytek; Professor Jamie Foster from the Department of Microbiology and Cell Science at the University of Florida in Gainesville; MSL Deputy Principal Investigator Pan Conrad; Director of the Foundation for Applied Molecular Evolution Steven Benner; and NASA Planetary Protection Officer Catharine Conley. MSL’s components include a car-sized rover, Curiosity, which has 10 science instruments designed to search for signs of life, including methane, and help determine if the gas is from a biological or geological source. Launch of MSL aboard a United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket is targeted for Nov. 26 from Space Launch Complex 41 on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida. CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- In the Press Site auditorium at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, a briefing was held to update media on the upcoming launch of NASA's Juno spacecraft. Seen here are Scott Bolton, Juno principal investigator with the Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas; Jan Chodas, Juno project manager with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., and Kaelyn Badura, Pine Ridge High School, Deltona, Fla. high school student, Juno Education program participant and Goldstone Apple Valley Radio Telescope Project participant. Juno is scheduled to launch aboard an United Launch Alliance Atlas V from Cape Canaveral, Fla. Zusammenfassung
Vertreter der Firma Parker Brothers, die für die Entwicklung und den Bau haarsträubender Sonderfahrzeuge bekannt ist, sprachen mit Mitarbeitern des Kennedy Space Center der NASA in Florida über ihre kreativen Denkprozesse. Die Veranstaltung fand im Rahmen der Innovation Expo 2016 statt. Die Mitarbeiter bekamen auch ihr Neutron-Fahrrad aus der Nähe zu sehen, das im Film "Tron" zu sehen ist.
