Thetrolley companies are ready to begin and continue Work on the lines of the Jersey City, Hoboken& Rutherford Railway is rapidly nearing comple-tion, and it is expected that the line will be inoperation by April 1 next. The company ownsabout 15 miles of double track which forms partof a trunk system, which will extend from theBarclay street and Christopher street ferries inHoboken. through Jersey City, Rutherford, Pater-son and Passaic. It is also hoped that adevice will be secured to automatically shut offthe electric current when the cars exct-ed a cerlainproper speed—for instance, 10 miUs per hour.
