The Commander of US Naval Forces Europe (CINCUSNAVEUR) Admiral (ADM) Harry Ulrich, presents the Medal of Honor to ired Croatian Army Lieutenant Colonel (LTC) Stecko Herceg on behalf of US Navy CHIEF Watertender (CW) Peter Tomich on the flight deck of the USN Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS ABRAHAM LINCOLN (CVN 72). Peter Tomich, a US citizen of Croatian heritage, gave his life to save his shipmates aboard the USS UTAH during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941.
