Red Cross women answer emergency call. Summer heat meant nothing to these loyal workers from New York, Brooklyn, Bronx, Van Cortland, Westchester, Richmond, Queens, Jersey City, Montclair, Nassau, Hoboken and Orange Chapters, of the Atlantic Division when they received word that there was work to be done. Cutting short their vacations they hurried back to the heat of the city and are here seen in their vacations room on the twenty second floor of the Yale Club, Vanderbilt Avenue and Forty fourth Street, making the model for the standard surgical dressing parcel for use in disasters, fires, floods, railroad accidents and other emergencies. The standard parcel, just adopted by the Red Cross and indorsed sic by the army medical officials, the American College of Surgeons and prominent medical men who served overseas, is a compact affair about the size of a loaf of bread. Wrapped in paroffine paper at least 100 of these parcels will be kept on hand by every Red Cross chapter in the United States
