ted. The flesh is green and possesses a delicious
flavor. It is a favorite market gardener's variety,

Extra Early Haekensack — Is similar in appearance to

Kleckley's Sweet — A popular oblong shaped sort, medium
early with solid bright red flesh, which is remarkably

Dark Icing — Almost round, of good size and splendid flavor.

Dixie — Early, oblong in shape and very attractive in appear-
ance. It is a splendid shipper. The flesh is bright red

Kolb's Gem — A general favorite, growing to a large size,
often weighing 25 to 50 lbs. The flesh is bright red, firm
and solid, with a delicious flavor. It is a splendid ship-

Hungarian Honey — Early, perfectly round, medium in size,
with bright red flesh of a rich honey flavor. Pkt., 5c;

Mammoth Ironclad — Large, with fine keeping qualities. Flesh
bright red and of splendid flavor. It is a good shipper.

Mountain Sweet — Early, large, oblong in shape with firm

Sweet Heart — A fine, early market variety, oval in shape
with a light green skin. The flesh is bright red, firm

WATER MELON.
Plant in hills 8 feet apart, selecting warm, rich
ground. When well grown thin out to two or three
plants to each hill.
1 oz. to 30 hills; 4 to 5 lbs. per acre.
Cole's Early — Is without a rival for earliness, ripens
with us in August. It is the best variety for the
northern states, where the seasons are usually too
short for most sorts. They grow to a fair size,
usually about a foot long. The flesh is bright red,
remarkably solid, crisp and free from stringiness,
with a small seed cavity, and deliciously sweet
throughout and close to the rind. Pkt., 5c; oz., 10c:

Cuban Queen — A large oblong variety with remarkably
firm, bright red flesh of luscious flavor. While the
rind is thin it is tough enough to render it a good

Peerless (Ice Cream) — Grows to a fairly large size. The
flesh is bright scarlet, thick and solid, and deliciously
sweet with a small seed cavity. The skin is light green,
