A splendid new double-flowering form of the well-known single
yellow variety "Chrysantha." Double Columbine flowers, while
extremely showy, are usually considered too short andpudgy to
comparein grace with the single-flowering sorts; but in this new
variety this objection is entirely overcome. The long-spurred
petals give to the massive golden flowers an air of elegance and

T.arge-flowering hybrid of one of the most beautiful of Rocky
Mountaia Columbines. Flowers of immense size, more or less dou-
bled toward centre with very long spurs. White marked with
shades of exquisite blue. The plants are thrifty growers, about
18 inches high, and yeryfloriferous PAf.1.5

Eemarkabl.yhandsoraeuew annual from .Southwest Africa, grow-
ing luxuriantl.v in our climate and forming profusely branched
bushes of about 2 to 2' ■. feet in height and breadth. Leaves are
eoft and whitish on both surfaces. Its flower heads, borne onlong
stems and rising well above the foliage, are large and showy,
from 2Vi to 3 inclies across; the ray florets, being pure white on
the upper surface, are embellished b.v a narrow yellow zone at
their base; reverse of petals pale lilac. Under the influence of
bright sunlight the flowers spread out almost flat, and the pure
while of the ray florets contrasts beautifully to the light blue
disk with its slightly projecting white stamens, a lovely combi-
nation of colors. Being of veryeasycultiire, the plants produce
their splendid flowers most abundantl.v an.i in constant succes-
sion from earlysummer to the autumn. Magniticent and promi-

Greatly imjiroved varieties of the popular "Double
Daisii'S." Admirably adapted for edgings, borders and
low beds, and also well suited for growing In jjots. Al-
though jjerennials, they will flower the same season if the
seed is sown early, though it Is preferable to sow in fall
