WORLD WAR 1. Soon after the armistice, German troops
Summary
WORLD WAR 1. Soon after the armistice, German troops entered the Province of Limburg, Holland, where the Dutch disarmed them. Germany said it was necessary for her troops to take this shorter route through Holland but there may have been the additional purpose of avoiding the wrath of the Belgians and of obtaining Dutch food. This photo shows a long line passing through one of the narrow Holland streets.
