Weihaiwei surrender. 19th century Japan. Public domain image.
Summary
日本語: 「威海衛陥落北洋艦隊提督丁汝昌降伏ノ圖 」、木版画
English: Ukiyo-e nishiki-e by Toshihide Migita depicting the surrender of Chinese forces after the Battle of Weihaiwei, dated November 1895(The depiction is fictitious. In fact the Chinese commander Ding Ruchang had committed suicide after he refused to surrender, and as the only captain still alive at the end of the battle, Sa Zhenbing was given the unenviable task of formally surrendering to the Japanese Navy.)
