A view of the St Fiorenzo, Captain Henry Lambert (d.1813), surrounded by three French ships, and preparing to attack the Psyché off Vizagapatam on 13 February 1805. Napoleonic Wars (1803-15).
Captain Henry Lambert (who died in action) was promoted Captain of the San Fiorenzo on 9 December 1804, distinguishing himself a couple of months later by the capture of the French frigate Psyche, just after the manoeuvre shown in this view.
George III catalogue entry: Naval Engagement View of the S.t Fiorenzo, Captain Henry Lambert having recaptured the Thetis Country Ship in the Indian Seas, tacking to engage la Psyché French National Frigate, Captain Berqueret, and l'Equivoque Privateer; the former of which was captured, on the 13.th of Feb.y 1805: by I. Clarke, engraved by Hamble and published by Orme, 1806.
