Lt. Col Jason West and Maj. Michael Plourde, engineers with the National Reconnaissance Office take photos of more than 50 vintage, World War II-era airplanes fly south along the Potomac River over the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C., May 8, 2015. The flyover was part of Victory in Europe Day events held to honor veterans, and mark the 70th anniversary of the end of the war in Europe in 1945. The flyover included famous aircraft such as the B-17, B-24 and B-29 bombers as well as the P-51, P-40, P-39 and P-38 fighters, among others.
