Vase with C-shaped Handles - Public domain museum image. A brown vase sitting on top of a table
Summary
This vase was dusted with wood ash. During firing the glaze turned an olive green in these places while the brown-burnt biscuit of the rest of the vessel was coated only with kiln gloss. This type of early green-glazed stoneware was made solely in southeastern China, from where it was widely distributed.
