USS MAKIN ISLAND, Pacific Ocean (October 30, 2016) – Capt. Bryan McDonald, the joint terminal attack controller and Firepower Control Team 6 leader for Supporting Arms Liaison Team C, 1st Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, establishes communications with an AV-8B Harrier Aircraft, during a close-air support simulation conducted on and around the USS Makin Island (LHD 8) while afloat in the Pacific Ocean, Oct. 30, 2016. One of ANGLICO’s missions while operating on the ground in a battle space is to communicate and coordinate with air or naval gunfire assets, as well as provide them with situational updates of target sites during their bombardment.
