Escorted by HH-60H Seahawk helicopters assigned to the Nightdippers of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Five (HS-5), Kennedy and its embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) transited the Atlantic Ocean marking the start of a scheduled deployment, and is expected to relieve USS Theodore Roosevelt (CN 71), to conduct missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
