USCGC Hawksbill escorts USS Iowa
Summary
VALLEJO, Calif. -- The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Hawksbill, an 87-foot coastal patrol boat homeported in Monterey, Calif., escorts the USS Iowa, an 887-foot WWII era U.S. Navy battleship, from Benicia, Calif., Friday, Oct. 28, 2011. The Iowa is being towed, by commercial tugboats, from Benicia to Richmond, Calif., where it will be refurbished, it will then be towed to Los Angeles where it will be further restored and turned into a museum.
