Summary
Coast Guard Station Point Judith is located in Narraganset in the Ocean State of Rhode Island. Its treacherous waters and rocky shoreline were the scene of many shipwrecks in the 19th century. In an effort to protect mariners, Point Judith Light was established in 1810 by William Ellery, a signer of the Declaration of Independence, and is located near the modern-day Coast Guard Station. The station runs approximately 170 search and rescue cases a year.
