U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel arrives at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Inouye Regional Center during the U.S. Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Defense Forum April 2, 2014, at Ford Island, Hawaii. Secretary Hagel participated in a roundtable discussion with ASEAN defense ministers focused on humanitarian and disaster relief in the Asia-Pacific region. The U.S. ASEAN Defense Forum presented Secretary Hagel and ASEAN defense ministers the opportunity to discuss the future preservation of peace and security within the region through topics of discussion including humanitarian disaster relief and regional security architecture.
