Summary
U.S. Army 1st Lt. Darryl Diltz, of St. Louis, assigned to 2nd Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, based out of Fort Campbell, Ky., mentors an Afghan Border Police officer before he shoots an AK-47 assault rifle. ABP officers received familiarization training on weapons such as the AK-47 assault rifle, PKM machine gun and the RPG-7 anti-tank rocket launcher. U.S. Army soldiers assigned to NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan partnered with military contractors from Xe International to mentor police officers at the ABP Border Center in Spin Boldak. The training mission is meant to strengthen the border police’s ability to combat insurgent activity along Afghanistan's borders.
