description

Summary

U.K. Army soldier performs emergency surgery on a medical training mannequin at Forward Operating Base Freedom during Global Medic at Fort McCoy, Wis., June 20, 2015. Combined Joint Atlantic Serpent enhances the interoperability between international forces by exercising field medical practices while sharing equipment, protocols and battle drills in a tactical training environment. Global Medic is the premier medical field training event in the Department of Defense and is the only joint accredited exercise conceived, planned and executed by Army Reserve Soldiers, who are part of the Medical Readiness and Training Command, Army Reserve Medical Command. Service members from multiple DoD branches train together in a joint force environment, further strengthening their abilities to serve together around the globe. Melding CJAS with Global Medic results in the single largest DoD's field medical training exercise. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Glenaj Washington/Released)
