Two Bells, bronze sculpture, Asia
Summary
These ritual bells were suspended from chains or in a frame, and rung by being struck with a stick. In Buddhist rituals they serve to attract believers’ attention, while in Hindu rituals they invite the presence of a deity. The bull on top of the large bell is associated with the Hindu god Shiva.
