GIANT GEYSER IN ACTION. THE GRAND GEYSER. 49 summit of which is forty-three feet above the level of the river. The Lionessand Cubs lie close together, and are sometimes in action at the same time,making a beautiful display, although they do not send up a very highcolumn of water. The several craters are highly ornamented with pearl-likebeads of geyserite. The Lion, the most powerful of the four geysers, i3 dis-tant fifty feet from the others, from which it i3 separated by a slight depres-sion. It has an irregular, flat-topped cone, four feet in height, with an orificeeighteen inches by two and one-half feet, the water in which is always inviolent commotion. The outside of the crater i3 covered with white beadedgeyserite, and the throat of the orifice is lined with yellow, pearly-toppedbead-like masses.
