olithic time, a littlesmaller than the typical size. Points. Neolithic No. 1. The points show some interesting features. It hasbeen intimated already at several places in the courseof the investigation of the Kansas artifacts that notonly was there a notable change in the skill evincedby the specimens in passing from the Ialeolithic toEarly Xeolithic, but thai the l^arly Xeolithic culturegrades into Xeolithic. It has also been stated thatthe large majority of all the S))ecimens are of thel-.arly Xer)lithic stage, as evinced l)y the shiny glossthat covers tliem. and that coni))arati\ely few are ofXeolithic date. It has al-o l)een slated ihal the I.arlyNeolithic specimens l)el<)ng ajiparently at differentdates between the Kansan and the Wisconsin ice-epochs. It remains now to call attention to a groupof points which differ from the F.arly Xeolithic pointsin several impurlanl res))ects: 1. They sliiiw l)ul little glossiness—as a rule theyare free from gloss and di^tinctlv Xeolithic.
