The Royal House-Party at the Viceregal Lodge
Summary
Hoping that this may help us identify some of the "strays" in this photo of the royal visit to Lismore Castle ( nlireland/9021821673/ ) in May 1904...I found this in the 7th May 1904 issue of Irish Society and Social Review: The only Society Journal in Ireland, (Price One Penny). While it's not the full complement of those present in Lismore, it should be useful for identifying some of the moustachioed gents at least...I also scoured the Illustrated London News. The 7th May issue gave tons of detail on the early part of Edward VII's visit to Ireland, and promised great detail on the later section of the visit including Lismore in the next issue, that of 14th May 1904. Unfortunately, the main preoccupation of that issue was the Russo-Japanese War so a visit to Waterford (even by the reigning monarch) didn't get a look in.....Date: Published Saturday, 7 May 1904..NLI Ref.: Ir 05 i 33
