description

Summary

The Puerto Rico National Guard took part in the Memorial Day commemoration events at the Puerto Rico National Cemetery in Bayamón and at the Atlantic Garden Veterans Cemetery in the municipality of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, May 28. This year’s event was dedicated to The Women of World War II. The Governor of Puerto Rico, Hon. Ricardo Rosselló Nevares, along with the Adjutant General of Puerto Rico, Brig. Gen. Isabelo Rivera, were present at both event locations, participating in the ceremonies. Many Veterans organizations along with members of the American Red Cross were present supporting this occasion as they do every year. The PRNG 248th Army Band was in charge of the ceremony’s musical arrangement as well as the national anthems. The copious rainfall at the National Cemetery was no deterrent to carry-out the ceremony to honor the brave who gave it all for the Nation. The traditional 21-gun salute and Taps were flawlessly performed despite the rainy conditions and even the Coast Guard’s HH-65 Dolphin was able to do its flyover at both events.
