GRAND CHIRIQUI, Panama (Sep. 29, 2010) The multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7) performs flight and landing craft utility (LCU) operations while anchored off the coast of Panama. Iwo Jima is anchored off the coast of Panama supporting Continuing Promise 2010, a humanitarian and civic assistance mission. The assigned medical and engineering staff embarked aboard Iwo Jima are working with partner nation teams to provide medical, dental, veterinary and engineering assistance to eight different nations.
