The Fort Wainwright Birch Hill Ski and Snowboard Area

The Fort Wainwright Birch Hill Ski and Snowboard Area hosted the 2019 March Madness Spring Festival on March 16 and 17 where Soldiers, Family and Civilians had the opportunity to compete in various ski and snowboard events such as the Pond Skip where each participant tried to cross over a pond at the base of the ski hill. Following the competitions, those willing to brave the freezing water had a chance to jump in, run through or swim across the pond as part of the ski hill’s annual Polar Plunge.
