Summary

Photo date unknown. Pictured: Robert and Jessie Firth with their four children - Lexie, Jessie, Betsy and Robert Jr. They moved to the island in 1862 from Victoria where Robert began work as a Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) servant in 1851. He went home to his native Scotland to marry Jessie in 1857 and then replaced Charles Griffin as Belle Vue Sheep Farm manager in 1862. He worked the farm under lease to HBC until 1873.
