This illustration entitled, "The Congressional Santa Claus", by cartoonist Clifford Berryman, which appeared in the Washington Post on December 25, 1904, depicts newly-elected President Theodore Roosevelt playing the part of Santa Claus as he prepares to shake the Christmas tree of appointments within the new administration, as members of Congress gather around dressed as good little boys.
