The British Western front in France

The "Big Brother." In the village of Brancourt, recently liberated by our troops, little children welcome Tommy and smile happily, perhaps the first time since the brutal German hordes devastated their land. This beautiful picture typified the love for defenceless children which has won for Tommy many greatful hearts and caused the little villagers of Northern France to hail him, affectionately as a "Big Brother."
