Common Peich (Percaflwviatilis). It grows from 4 inches to 6 inches in length, and forms a very conspicuous object, moving to and fro over the bottom of the tank in search of caddis- worms, blood-worms, Crustacea, &c. It loves to swim boldly about with its dorsal fin erected, and then looks as if engaged upon some crusade.
