The ferry Kummulla is in the foreground, launched in 1902 it was one of the earliest of the K class vessels and one of the smallest.
Also in view is the first ferry wharf on Curraghbeena Point at the entrance to Mosman Bay built by Richard Harnett in the early 1870s. The wharf is now known as Mosman South, previously Musgrave Street Wharf.
Cecil Stanley Harnett, amateur photogapher and half brother to Richard Hayes Harnett Jr, first Mayor of Mosman, was an amateur photographer in the period 1915-1930. The Maclaey Museum has several hundred of his glass plate negatives taken in the 1920's.
