Al Hillah, Iraq (May. 28, 2003) Serving the Navy side by side, Equipment Operator 1st Class Chris Lyerla and Engineering Aide 1st Class Scott Lyerla are brothers who have spent the last three years deployed together in Spain, Bosnia, and now in Iraq. They are both participating in the restoration of a local jail with the help of Seabees assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Fifteen (NMCB-15). NMCB-15 is forward deployed to Iraq, working on various construction projects aimed at helping Iraqi citizens in the effort to rebuild municipal facilities in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Operation Iraqi Freedom is the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.
