Summary

Service members from Pennsylvania's Army National Guard in-process at the District of Columbia Armory in Washington D.C., Jan. 18. Soldiers and airmen received public affairs, medical, safety and chaplain briefings prior to being deputized as special police officers. As special officers, service members will assist and support local law enforcement throughout the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. Approximately 6,000 National Guard personnel will work during the inauguration providing traffic control, crowd management, transportation, communication and medical and logistical support, as well as marching in the Inaugural Parade.
